OUR CONVICTIONS
Core Christian beliefs that we understand to be the essence of Christianity.
There is only one God, who exists eternally as a Trinity of three persons: Father, Son, and Spirit. Each member of the Trinity is fully and equally God, yet personally distinct from one another. (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27, John 1: 1-5, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
The Bible is God’s word and it is true and it will not fail. (2 Timothy 3:16)
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, born of a virgin and was both fully God and fully man while He lived on earth. (Matthew 1:20, Luke 2:52, John 1:1-4, 14) (2 Timothy 3:16)
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father, present to make men aware of their need for Jesus and to provide guidance to believers. (2 Corinthians 3:17, John 16: 7-13)
We are called to love God and love others. (Matthew 22:36-40)
The Church should be a blessing to our community and world. (Ephesians 4, Matthew 25:31-46)
We are called not just to make converts, but to make disciples of Jesus. (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8)
OUR LEADERSHIP
City Church is a Jesus-ruled, elder-led, and congregationally-responsible church family. Jesus is the Chief Shepherd of our church; any other role or responsibility flows from or is derived from his authority. He entrusts the care of His Church on Earth to equipped, qualified leadership.
